I've done this divider thing in 40 gal breeders with some success using
glass dividers. The glass is cut to 1/4" less than the inside width and
almost as tall as the tank sides. It is held in place by 1" sections of
airline siliconed to the top and bottom of the side where you want the
glass. Lower the water level enough to discourage jumping and cover the
divided tank space to control evaporation rate and give the more
athletic jumpers something to bounce their little heads on.
