Re: [Killietalk] Fertile eggs that do not develop

>Has anyone seen this?
Yep, I've managed to create some really nice clear amber "pickled eggs"
using improperly prepared "Jiffy Peat" (basically raw, uncut &
unboiled)...I'd bet the eggs would remain in that "suspended animation" for
50yrs...(and I'm fully aware, I may catch some flack for this slanderous
"sacrilege" against Jiffy7)...
I'd almost swear that finer peat almost creates too much "acidic" contact on
a big egg (but this is coming from someone with a total 2+ yrs
experience)...so what do I know?

I actually don't use Jiffy 7. I have a rather coarse Canadian peat, boiled
and well rinsed. The quality of the peat was taken totally out of the
equation anyway when I tried to store the eggs in damp mops. It all seems
very strange.
