Re: [Killietalk] A newbie with questions, and a little about me
Yes, at the hatch date, flood the peat with about an inch of water covering
them and if a hatch is to be had, it will manifest within 12 hours if the time
is right for them to hatch. If no hatch after one day, redry the peat and it
should be easier to see any unhatched eggs as the rinsing process "cleans" the
eggs of "dust". Dry for a couple of weeks to one month and wet again. If no
hatch, contact seller and explain results. Many will send again if no hatch is
acheived.
P.S. I know of no spouse or significant other who does not think there is a
screw loose in their loved one who has found killies. Acceptance instead of
understanding will be the key - it is possible for killies and loved ones to
live together in harmony although it helps greatly for the hobby to be
sequestered in an unused bedroom or basement where the loved one sees the hobby
only when they want to (my experience).
