Re: [Killietalk] Planted tank

big for the fish.

Amen! Another example: I set up a pair of Ep.
annulatus in a planted 10-gallon tank and within a
month or so snared about 8 youngsters. Down the
street, Brad Higgins, using pretty much the same R.O./
tap water mix and a 20-gallon-long, in the same
period, snared a couple dozen fry. The parents, when
in the mood to procreate, will find each other. The
increased plant supply offers more micro-foods for
small fry.

Netting fish? Use two nets or your hands.

In the planted aquaria where we attempt to let nature
take its course, the number of fry produced will
reflect a combination of factors such as
shelter/plants/space/population density/food
supply/water changes/water quality/water chemistry
and, I'm sure, more. As killinuts we are often tank
rich and space poor. A little more room to rumble is
not a bad thing. :)

All the best!
