Re: [Killietalk] Fp. deltaensis
When shopping for a dog I don't ask where it came from; I ask for the
breed,
the lineage and registration, but have never yet asked for a location of
where
it was whelped. So for all of his "stupidity" he manages his business
and from
what I know he does it reputably. I suspect there are individuals in the
hobby
that have been creative with collections/locations when the need arose.
You keep
on comparing apples and oranges and then caution that they are both
round.

If so, he's not much of a businessman. To use an extreme example, you
ask a kennel what breed of dog they are selling;. They won't make many
sales if you can't tell if it is a St. Bernard or Toy Poodle. They are
all /Canis lupis familiaris./though.
He has no way of knowing that David may be wanting to match a collection
he already has with a missing sex or for just new blood. Failure to ID
the collection/location is every bit as stupid as not giving the breed
of a dog you are selling. Reminds me of some commercial sources that
would make up any collection/location info you wanted. Just tell them
what you want and they will always have it. "Caveat emptor" isn't even
needed with such vendors. Run away, fast!
