Re: [Killietalk] AKA Web Site

I'm new to the AKA and to Killietalk. I do sometimes see some questionable comments on this list. My personal experience with the local clubs has exposed me to the nicest, most generous people, I've ever enjoyed a hobby with. For that I am thankful.

Website developement is a time consuming task. As a software developer, myself, website development is one of my daily tasks. I have my own website that I rarely get around to updating. I can't imagine maintaining a site like the AKA site for TEN YEARS, as a volunteer AND being bashed for not doing a good enough job on a public forum. I'm assuming Barry has a life outside the AKA. He takes time from friends and family to do work that is often tedious and his reward is our use of the site and appreciation of his efforts. I wouldn't cut his pay, folks! As we get older, I know we all realize how precious our time is.

Barry..I don't even know you...never met you...but thank you.

ALL,

You know I was just stunned at the jab people took at the AKA web site and
well, Barry! I don't know of a single person that has so unselfishly given
of his time to an all volunteer club in the last what 8-9-10 years of the
AKA web site. The design and maintenance of a web site is so time consuming
I can't even tell you and express my feelings in words right now. I am
called an impulsive person so I suppose I had better watch my mouth right
now but I will say this about people who are casting the stones in glass
houses . . . they ought to evaluate what they have done for the AKA lately
and what they "SAID" they were going to do for the AKA but never quite got
it done.

Some said Barry was a bit rough in his response. . . I wouldn't be surprised
if he dumped it all in your lap and left.

. . . . . . . . . . . . now that I think about that I would be surprised if
he did because Barry is in the vernacular of today's teenagersis "All-That"
and will probably absorb the punishment.

I am waiting for those people to step up and volunteer to do a better job on
the AKA site themselves. I suspect even if they did it for a couple of
MONTHS for sure it wouldn't last long when they figured out there is NO
DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT FOR ALL OF THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME. No way! To
take pot shots for something like that is just simply silly and infantile.

I personally think Barry is owed an apology from at least 2 people.

If you have a suggestion for the web site I would suggest you either send
your suggestions to the VOLUNTEER web master or volunteer to take the site
over for the next 10 years.

Mike
