Re: [Killietalk] Breather bags

Id like to pipe in here and make a comment on the breather bags..

As far as shipping killies in them and small anabantoids.... they are
wonderful... never had a problem yet with them.... but thats about it
for these bags.... shipping other species of fish they really stink...
I have a few ppl who i bought some fish from this summer who shipped me
young cichlids in breather bags and every time i got doas.... One
recent shipment from Oregon, the breeder put 6 different 3"
labidochromis in the larger 4 inch sized bags and all leaked so badly
that fish were dead even with overnight express shipping, this caused
the box to be full of water and no water in any of the bags of those
cichlids... i also was sent some smaller 1" fish that ended up dying
because they were floating in the water from the bags that leaked....
and as ppl know, you cant float fish in these breather bags.. so all 11
fish that were sent to me ended up being doa. Today a different breeder
shipped me a pair of fish, only 2" in length, one fish to a bag but
double bagged, which you can do with breather bags... only problem today
was inner bag had hole poked in it but didnt leak out thru the outer
bag, hence fish ended up floating inside first bag which was floating in
the second outer bag.

My recommendation to ppl.... Breather bags are great for killies,
guppies and anabantoids... but not for any cichlids... Next time i hear
someone is going to use breather bags when shipping me something other
then killies... im gonna scream!!

Just my opinion here...
