Re: [Killietalk] Breather bags
Tony and all,
I can say and will say again the shipment I got from Tony this morning was great. They are all in the same quaritine tank as of right now with a few plants and mops for hiding. Several of the fish are coming out and being friendly. There was no leaking bags either. I did not even find any water in the outer bags so the first sealing did its job. I have to say I was shocked at the small amount of water used but they are in better shape than all the other fish I have recieved through the mail but that has been limited. The fish were given a small amount of grindal worms which they quickly took. But I never give fish a big gut load after traveling. I plan on taking the next bit of cash I get from sale of fish eggs to get me a batch of these breather bags.

This is the kind of comment that is most interesting, blame the
product not the packer............ I have been using breather bags
exclusively for 6 years, I ship 4 to 6 boxes of killies per week.
I think that I have had one bag leak in the 6 years! . I use
60-70ml of water per killie, heat seal the bag flat .... one bag hold two
fish separated, I then double bag the pair in another breather
bag.........................
My longest experience is 17 days for a shipment and everything
arrived in great shape.................
This reminds me of the e mail I got a while back from a killie
keeper who had ordered and received 3 pr of killies, It went something
like this ..............." I received your shipment this morning, all
fish were healthy and alive and I am happy to report that they are actively
swimming in their new home. Although they have only been in their new tank
for a few hours, they are already eating and sparing with each other. I
do not know how you can be so cruel to the fish, they were in so little
water . you should learn to ship fish in sufficient water for the
fish....................................."
