RE: [Killietalk] Futher into the morass...
Prehaps some one should look into the prep of the water that is used in the
shows over thee and here. Do the entrants used their own water at the
European shows. Do they do a better job of ageing the show water.

As further testimony to the problems of bringing home fish from the
Convention, I too, along with Dave K. have had problems with fish I bring
home from
the Convention. I do not have an explanation for this except I can add that
fish that I have gotten from people independently from the auction and fish
sale have generally done much better. These fish have had the same time in
transit and the same treatment when I get them home. The thing they are
lacking is
the time in a tank with people looking at them with flashlights or the time
in
a bag with people holding them up to look at them in the fish sale room.
Maybe
it is those people inspections that are killing the fish.
Do I believe this? No! But something is putting these fish at risk for
sure. I really would like to get other people's opinions on why this is so.
Dave
has mentioned that he does better with fish from European shows. Why is
that?
I don't think it is because they are better breeders. The fish we get
through
NRSC come from Europe and I have very poor success with them as well.
Perhaps
it is our fish bagging and transporting methods. What is different about
that?
