RE: [Killietalk] New Members

I just hope that you guys stick with it. It is an important job and if done
in the proper manner can make it seem like everyone is on the ball and doing
their thing. If there is any way I can help you let me know.

Jim and I have been on the job for a little more than a week. I plan on
entering new members on a daily basis, and e-mail him the new members so he
can mail out the roster/beg guide. Frankly, I could say the past is not my
problem, but it is all our problem. From now on I would recommend to anyone
who encounters someone with a problem, to instruct them to contact the
membership committee immediately, and if you wouldn't mind taking it a step
further, get their name and e-mail address and you contact us as well. By
being an advocate of the AKA and contacting us for new members who may be a
little apprehensive to contact us, we can start alleviating some of the
problems of the past.

I know the potential to make a few mistakes at the beginning are real,
but we plan on taking the bull by the horns and take care of the problems as
soon as they come up. Plus we are being backed up by three guys who spend an
incredible amount of time taking care of the AKA website. If we hade to pay
someone to do the work they do on the website, we would see a dramatic
increase in dues. I have an extensive background in customer service, and I
know how to treat people. But on the same token, if someone comes at me in
caps, you will get it back. After all I am Italian. ;)

Thank you with anticipated co-operation, Lonny Langione
