Does anyone have experience with keeping California killifish in captivity? These estuarine fish are difficult to maintain in the lab for longer than a few weeks. They don't do well in flow-through sea water tanks. I've held a number of them in static tanks for 2 months now, and several are coming down ith an unusual pathlogy, although I can't identify it by external inspection only. I have attached a picture of a sick killi; the symptom is an indentation across the back, in front of the dorsal surface. Looks as if the muscle is collapsing from the inside. No sign of external lesions/ulcers/etc. Any information would be much appreciated. thank you, JS
