[Killietalk] seperating whiteworms from soil

I recived some white worms and would love to feed them to my fish but I can't seem to separate the worms from the soil.I have tried placeing a funnel over a cup and then placeing a light over the funnel. I left them overnight like this and they did move away from the light but would not drop down into the cup. are there any other suggestions to get these treats to my fish?
