[Killietalk] re: Aphanius fasciatus

Hi Bill!

What is the source of your question? Aphanius fasciatus is a fairly widespread killie found throughout the Mediterranean and even has expanded into the Red Sea through the Suez Canal. I haven't heard of it in regards to Libya, but it is probably found there. On the other hand, Aphanius apodus is a concern, but it is found in Tunisia, not Libya. Thanks!

Can an any one fill me in on Aphanius fasciatus from Lybia? Are the fish
not really endangered or is it just not politically correct to own Libyan
fish? I couldn't seem to find them on the CITES list, but maybe I was
searching incorrectly.
Is there a demand in the hobby for this fish?

Bill Martin
