I've kept and bred nigrifluvi for a couple years and now have guignardi. Side by side, they look the same. I see the names used synonymously in reference materials. Are they the same?

Yep!

The correct name (per Huber) is guignardi. Scr. nigrifluvi and banforense are synonyms and neither are the valid specific name.

We can add to the confusion by refusing to accept the 30+-year-old decision of the ICZN that Roloffia would never be a valid genus. :-)
