RE: [Killietalk] AKA convention

It is in our schools and the subjects they are taught and how. German
schools teach the kids science the American schools teach greed and how to
get out of doing studies.

Germany is not as small as some people believe.
There are a good number of german DKG-members living outside of the
imaginary 300 mile driving-circle around Dresden. The western part of the
"old Republik" holds the most members of our club. For example, the big
cities like Hamburg, Bremen, Cologne, Munich and the "Ruhrgebiet"
(Industriel Region at the Rivers Ruhr an Rhein) are more then 300 miles
driving from Dresden.
Using aeroplanes is much more normal in your county. Most people here would
not think about using that way to travel within distances under 1000 miles.
On the other hand, where the conditions different in the "old days", when
the AKA-Convention used to have lots of fish?
I think the motivation is different. Most people here go to the convention
and they do not want to be there without their killis, just to show their
friends, what they are breeding, how nice their fishes are, maybe to sell
some more fishes over the year...
If you come to the point, that people only send in killies, which really
have a big chance to win a group, the quality of the fishes in the show may
rise, but the show will be less interesting, for a lot of species will not
show up.
