She may be the best aquarist I've ever met. Certainly the most enthusiastic and generous. - Bob

All, I know Sallie and she was not talking about fish eggs. She's pretty
hot.

According to Dr. Sally Boggs , when the male does not tend the eggs right
and they have eyed up stroke them lightly under water with a feather (I
use
a chicken tail feather) and they will hatch if they are ready. Sounds
kinky
but it works.

I have been trying to hatch some peacock gudgeon eggs, because my last
male has kept abandoning the eggs before they hatch (normally the males
stay in a cave guarding and finning water over the eggs until the fry
are free swimming; this male seems to be a lemon).

For this last batch I had opened that cap on the PVC pipe cave (they're
adherent to the wall of the 'cave'), and placing them in the tank
positioned to have a mild current flowing through as a substitute for
father's care. I had a group of them developing, eyeing up, even a
few that hatched and wiggled, but some did not develop and fungused,
and eventually I lost the whole batch (some 40-50 eggs).

Does this sound like a situation that might be improved by some
acriflavin like some of you like to use for killie eggs? I'd be trying
to inhibit the fungus on the dead eggs long enough to allow the live
eggs to hatch, plus another 3-4 days before the wigglers are free
swimming.
