RE: [Killietalk] USPS to Raise Rates

"There might be some downsides, but the internet is another thing I'm glad our government invested in. This is one of those cases when my tax
dollar "investment" actually benefited my hobby in a direct way."

About time they did some new right. The last thing was the interstates and I think that the goverment had other reason pushing that like millitary movability.

"No problem with USPS from my end. They have consistently done a fine
job for me...of course my wife works there so maybe I am biased. If
you don't like USPS use email, the phone, UPS, Fed X, or Airborne. Now
If I misread this and someone is really putting a gun to your head and
making you use USPS then sorry....."

Well I have had alot of problems with our postal service. I think alot of it depends on your postmaster general. Our postal service worker were I used to live in apartments would not knock on the door and just lay your packages on the porch as he walked by. Many of my packages were stolen and many more were rained on and ruined. Good thing we payed for insurance when purchasing these items. They also left my packages of bees outside in the hot sun and the packages states plainly keep at room temp but these were for pick up at the post office. The mail carrier I have out here in the country is a sweet lady. I just found deaf ears when complaining about my last mail carrier. I just wish I could have gotten a polite word like I am sorry that this happened to your package and I would have loved to hear I will do my best to see that is does not happen again. Instead I was told if a package does not require a signature we do not have to knock and can leave them on the door step. !
 I sent
myself a letter that required a signature(return receipt). I got the letter without having to sign for it and pushed the postmaster to do something about it. Nothing was ever done. I even contacted the state office. So many of us have real complaints against the USPS. In some places they try to solve the problem in others they do not care.
