[Killietalk] Color & Photoperiod



Folks <changing lanes>
I may have quipped in an earlier rant about having some very dull
colored fish. I don't believe the malady is caused by color rendition of
my cheapo "cool whites", as this condition affects my F1's & F2's only

Anyway, back in my cichlid days I long ago read a FAMA article on
modifying angelfish color by exposing fry to various
photoperiods...seems the effect was semi-permanent to permanent if I
recall...
Just wondering if this same phenomena could effect killie fry similarly
(I raise my fry in the closet, BBS hatching lights are on 24/7)...seems
pertinent from a "show fish" standpoint...anyway here is one link:
