RE: [Killietalk] Pachypanchax
Hello to all Pachypanchax keepers.
Paul Loiselle is distributing some fish into the hobby. At the Northeast
Council of Aquarium Societies meeting this March he graciously donated a
pair each of P. sakaramyi, P. sp. Talio, and P. sp. Varatraza to the rare
fish silent auction. I believe that the proceeds of this auction went to
the George Maier Fund. I purchased both the Talio and Varatraza locations,
and I already maintain P. sakaramyi. I have already collected fry from the
P. sp. Talio and a few eggs (but none viable yet) from the P.sp. Varatraza.
I will make pairs available when they mature. Tony Terciera recently added
pictures of these two species to the AKA gallery under Pachypanchax.
Best wishes,
Richard Pierce

We do indeed have a lsit of those currently in the hobby - that we know of.
The chairmanship of the Species Maintenance for Pachypanchax is currently in
transition from me to a new chair, and the files are in transit, but here's
a quick overview:
P. sakaramyi Joffreville LM94/7
P. sakaramyi
P. omanolatus Nosy Be
P. omanolatus
P. playfairii
P. sp. Ampanobe
P. sp. Ambatazorovy
P. sp. Betsiboka River
There may be others that we're as yet unaware of.
As to the second part of your question, I don't know.
Best - donna recktenwalt
