Re: [Killietalk] Newbies at the convention

Wouldn't even have to print it,

Any Staples store sells little sticky labels in any shape size, color.............. a little round yellow dot with 1st done with a sharpie would do it, a place at the registration table, and a sign offering the stickers so people could put them on if they choose.

I would be willing to buy them and put the number on them and send them along to the convention people, if they wanted....just need approximate badge size so I could get the correct dot size....................................

People could choose to use them if they desired.

It would be very simple to print a couple of pages of narrow self adhesive labels (return address type, say in yellow color) saying "My First Convention" or some such thing. These could be just put in a basket at the registration desk to be taken and applied to the name tag by those first timers who want to advertise themselves as such.

One of the problems is that we don't know who is a first time attendee at the conventions. If chatting to those you consider friends is a "click" then I'm guilty as one of the great things about conventions is renewing old friendships. Of course, making new friends is important too and I do want to meet you too. Maybe we should have a way of identifying first time attendees that does not belittle them (different color name tag, etc.?)
