>Al, your altruism with fish and eggs is legendary........ I cannot even

Thankfully there are many people like you who help the Killifish
hobby in so many ways............
That said:
>What ticks me off about the AKA is they charge for a membership and then
>take your fish away sell them and give you nothing in return. It seems like
>double dipping to me.
You don't really believe that the cost of membership pays for the materials
you receive as a member................... and then leaves enough profits
to invest in publishing efforts to start the Production of the Wildekamp's
series, or to pay for the initial production of KMI4, The new color
booklet on Epiplatys, or the Beginner's Guide, in its 4 color format.
In the early 70's the AKA depended upon the Conventions for an
operating budget just to meet the needs of
members......................... The limited distribution of JAKA and the
increase over the years in color makes it an expensive magazine to produce,
and also the flagship of the National Groups....................... WE
keep the dues down to a very acceptable level to encourage members to
join. There is no need to increase dues if we can support the AKA goals
with donations...........
