Re: [Killietalk] Newbies at the convention

As old fashioned as it might be, at some of the shows I've gone to, everyone
was welcome to those sticky tape name tags.... What many did was put their
screen nic and real name on them since some of us are better known for our
nic than our name... (*guilty of using the nic identity)

I've not had much issue meeting people at shows since I have to have my
hands in water about 10 hours a day or I feel like something is not
right.... *grin* And no matter how familliar I am with a species, I can
always think of something to ask (water parameters or feeding/foods are
always good ones and can get a fish person talking for hours).

I had no problem meeting people when I went to the shows in Portland OR.
Everyone was very friendly, for the most part. There are always cliques no
matter what group(s) you are in.

Jump in, get your hands wet, help bag and unbag. Best way I know of to talk
to people..... ;-)
