RE: [Killietalk] Re: USPS Problems - Now

Better than half of the boxes were 2" styro boxes that came in to the show
the fish were returned in the same boxes they came in with just the address
labels. Al lot of the boxes had live fish on them keep warm on them.
We had no problems sending the ones that made it.

Subject: [Killietalk] Re: USPS Problems - Now

I have read the lengthly discussions lately about shipping and the USPS.
Last weekend the IBC had a show in Indianapolis and we had a problem
with the USPS. Below is a copy of an e mail sent to out Betta list from
Jeff hill, our show chair:

"I had a box returned to me that we shipped out Monday USPS Express
mail from the MBC show last week. It was returned because it had
live animals(fish) and was shipped Express mail. It had a big red
tag explaining the postal service only takes live animal shipments via
surface no express shipping. My postmaster knows I'm shipping fish but
he let's it slide because I don't mark my boxes. The box returned was
NOT EVEN marked live fish but it was opened and when they saw the fish
it was returned to me(the sender). I suspect since it was a styrofoam
container that may have drawn suspicion to it. Anyway just a heads up
for anybody using express mail don't mark your boxes live fish."

Just a heads up on something that happened this week.
