RE: [Killietalk] One location for the convention
Tampa or Orlando sounds great the air rates are cheep and if you agree to
spend 90 min looking at a time share ya get $ 50.00 restaurant money and 3
or 4 free night at a Comfort Inn free but we would need Peace makers for
security down there to protect our selves with.

Subject: [Killietalk] One location for the convention
Showing off my innate American ignorance of foreign geography, I think that
you can pretty much travel anywhere in Netherlands by car in a reasonably
short period of time, so having the convention always in the same location
works pretty well - everyone that wants to can drive to attend. By my rough
calculations it looks like the Netherlands is around 200 by 120 miles
(excluding offshore islands). For comparison, the distance between NYC and
Washington, DC is 240 miles, which would be longer than a trip from one end
of the Netherlands to another (distance-wise, dunno about time).
So, the suggestion is of interest, but realize it isn't as convenient to
have the convention in one location anywhere in the US as it would be in the
Netherlands. NYC, Chicago, LA, as there's lots of airline service, but of
course air travel is expensive. Personally, if I had my way, we'd always
have the convention in Orlando or Tampa as the family could attend.
