[Killietalk] Conventions and such
Hi all,
On this topic, what I proposed to our National Club(dogs) was having a
central "Specialty" committe, a group of volunteers to help plan, and fund
raise on a national level for our specialties. With such a centralized
committee, with committee members across the nation, we would develop an
ability to flex on location. We could utilize lesser populated areas,
without a lot of on the ground members, as long as we had experienced folks
to do some of the groundwork, negotiating with hotels, among other things
required by dogs, but not by fish<G>
Has the AKA looked into a possibility such as this? It would take a huge
load off the shoulders of locals, allowing them to do more detail work,
looking for great collecting spots, or hiring in excellent speakers etc, not
to mention taking the onus off them for choosing poorly as to cost and
travel problems? I know I'm not getting into too much detail, just throwing
out a basic idea, but maybe it's something that could help alleviate the
problems?
