[Killietalk] Convention Loans for Retirees

Folks,

Sorry if I came off as venting my spleen at Karl and Al, although my response
did not mention them specifically. After the 10th person sends you an email
complaining about this convention's prices, I felt some of you folks out there
didn't have all the facts in our convention planning. I glad as heck I don't
do this for a living.

Has anyone suggested to the AKA BOT about a compensatory program for those on
fixed incomes that would allow them to regularly attend AKA National
Conventions?

It could be possibly be setup as a 12-month, no interest loan with a fixed
payment to help spread out the cost of the convention. It would at least be
better than putting it on a credit card and paying double-digit interest.

I realize the same effect can be had by setting aside money monthly to attend
the convention. I also realize that money management is not everyone's forte.

Not wishing to get into a discussion about AKA's budget, but I believe the AKA
could afford to lose interest on a couple of grand every year with no ill
effects to our operating capital.

Just an idle thought,

Michael Brem
Waiting for the guys with the clean white uniforms!
