Russ' comments about hosting a convention in one's
backyard got me to thinking about the cost in terms of
time, local driving, telephone calls, stress and the
friction between friends. I've gotta think that maybe
a far away national isn't such a bad deal after all.
Have always maintained that the time expended in
driving from here to a national in St. Louis, Cinci,
Milwaukee or Detroit is still a lot less than in
hosting one. Upon reflection, that surely applies to
Maryland too.
