[Killietalk] showing fish
Does the AKA have a guideline on the requirement for showing a fish? Is
owning the fish enough to place it in a show under your name? Or, should
the fish be "totally yours", as in having collected the egg from the parents
which you owned and then hatched and raised it? Or, is it something
in-between, a value added concept; having kept it alive for x months, or
having raised it from an egg or fry purchased from another?
Does the KEY committee have a rule on this? Lacking that, what is the
opinion of this group?
I know in Goldfish and Koi shows, just owning the fish is enough. Somehow,
this just seems too easy to me. I would think showing fish should be some
reflection of your success as a breeder, not just a keeper.
