Can freezedried daphnia (hikari brand to be specific) come back to life?
reason I ask is that I have a 10 gallon that I had up and running with
snails before and did a complete teardown, treated with flubendazole to
kill any remaining snails and after several water changes, added some
mollies to cycle the tank and then spawned some rainbows. The fry in the
tank are about 10-14 days old now and last night I noticed tons of tiny
green bugs swimming about in the tank about the size of a common black
flea. After doing some talking locally with some clubmembers I was
suggested daphnia might be my unknown critter but how'd I get them? They
swim very, very well, better than the rainbow fry and the fry seem scared
of them since they're about the same size as the fry's body without tail.
they also can land themselves onto decorations or glass and crawl around
like bugs. I just remembered I fed a little hikari freezedried daphnia
around a week ago, could this be possible? I can!
't find
any good photos of daphnia without being microscope or drawings of
multiple enlargements. thanks, Kyle
