RE: [Killietalk] White vinegar ok?

I was told that the vinegar of choice was apple cider vinegar with a
small pice of apple n the bottom of the container. It has always worked
great and the worms proliferated like mad.

YMMV however, be well,

Leo

You and I were told the same, Leo. Worked for me for years at low production, but very reliable. Then our mileage got improved... :-)

Chris Graseck actually ran tests. All used sliced apple as food to test 4 diluted vinegars.

His reported results (from the killietalk archives) were:

...malt vinegar has by far the most worms
growing in it. They are literally crawling up the sides of the jar and
clumping. The rice vinegar is second in its number of worms followed > by the red wine vinegar and finally the cider vinegar.

I still think distilled white is worthless for this and as food. May be a decent glass cleaner additive (thanks Lorraine) and that's about all.
