Re: [Killietalk] Breather bag question
Tony,
You've probably shipped more fishes than I with breathers and would
appreciate your opinions on double-bagging. Will gaseous exchange still
occur through 2 layers of breather material?
I intend to ship out some juvenile Corydoras habrosus and C. hastatus
(approx 1cm size) using breathers, but corys have the habit of hitting the
surface for air.
Do I still 'flat-pack', as per your earlier attached picture, or do I
leave ample air pocket?
Yes I double bag with breather bags, the exchange rate is still
much higher than required. When I ship wild bettas, licorice gouramis or
other labyrinth, I leave a small pocket of air in the bag but still double
bag them, and with the small air pocket the bag is more "round " than flat.
I have had labyrinth fish lost in the mail for 17 days and 80 % of the
shipment has made it....................................
Tony
