Re: [Killietalk] USPS regulations

Hi all, one of the things that governs what the USPS regulates is the carrier that transports their mail. It could be FEDEX, who has most of the contracts, or other conveinient air carrier that they be contracted with. The USPS does not use their own aircraft anymore, so some of the difficulties arising are due to the contactors changing their rules. I know that FEDEX has made deals with fish shipments from Hawaii and other places. I dont know if FEDEX has changed. All they asked for beside the money is that the styros were inside a hard cardboard box. They would refuse a bare styro. There have been inconsistencies of airlines taking fish aboard as checked or carry on depending on the station where the flights originate. There being a situation where the station manager for the airline or ground security coordinator makes a decision against the fish because they dont know if fish equals bird, dog, or monkey.

Funny, the airlines don't seem to have a problem accepting live animals for
shipping if you're paying their rates. 60.00/100lb for live fish, and there
is a 100lb freight minimum.

Try UPS Super Saver see what they have to offer
