How long does Jehmco's carbon cartridge last?

Do you have it attached before or after the pressure reducing regulator?

1. A line pressure of 60 psi provides adequate flow, but occasional
leaks in 
the drip irrigation tubing. A reduced pressure to 25 psi with a
regulator 
eliminates the leaks but does not supply sufficient water for over 120
outlets. I 
will try a 40 psi regulator soon.
3. The carbon cartridge filter from Jehmco works as well as my home made
one, 
but costs more. Worth the difference in convenience in my opinion.
