Al,
I would be interested in checking those exact locations, if you would send  
them to me off list.  The only record of J. floridae ever being found in SC  
was one solitary fish found in the Edisto River near Charleston and that was  
quite a few years ago.  I've sampled that area (and the Hilton Head area)  
pretty extensively and NEVER found them.  Could you possibly have found  Cyprinodon 
variegatus instead?
