Re: [Killietalk] Prepared information for schools

Lorraine,

Just a thought here, but depending on the age of the kids, more scientific
might actually turn them off of fishkeeping. I've found with kids, teaching
them is sort of a balancing act. I've got some great kids who come to the
store and have worked hard at getting their own tanks up and running,
they're great fun to work with, but I have to make sure I deal with them at
an age appropriate level, if I get too involved in chemistry, I gt the
glazed look<G> If I explain things in fairly simple, but still complete
ways, they're great, and will come back week after week with questions that
keep ME thinking<G>

Just some thoughts from the peanut gallery<G>

Subject: [Killietalk] Prepared information for schools

Does the AKA have any prepared articles or literature suitable for school
kids.

I have 3 tentative booking for kids to come and see the fishroom. (Tentative
because the room isn’t finished yet.) I would like to have a packet of info
made up for the kids.

Something prepared by the AKA would be a lot more scientifically accurate
that stuff I write myself.

Also are we allowed to reproduce JAKA articles for this purpose?
