Re: [Killietalk] Tank fish in the wild

At least in Australia since the 1970s bringing in something "New and/or Rare" often does push "something else" off the table.

The result is the Australian hobby has lost hundreds of species of fish (not just killis - everything) during the last 30 years. We will never see them in Australia again because of Government import restrictions.

I have argued for years that every hobbyist should put one tank aside for breeding what is today "a common fish". Based upon Australia's history that fish will be rare and endangered within a few years.

Anyone interested in doing such a venture? Just one small tank in your fish-house. For the sake of all fish, please.
