[Killietalk] Hobby & Conservation?; was Re: annualism
When it comes to Killifish, in many cases keeping a perticular species pure
and true breeding is like protecting a priceless piece of art. These fish
change Throughout time in nature and this is a natural process, However you cannot
go back and collect what is lost. In many cases a collection is a view to a
segment in time for a species at a specific locality.
Care must be taken to preserve these animals as they existed. If it is not
for you to do so then don't, but do not pass to me a fake masquerading as an
original. This is the area where
I'm not thrilled with amateurish and profit gathering treatment of Killifish,
There is always some dishonest ass that will sell you down the road for
profit and in the end screw up the locational significance of existing "pedigree"
fish.
I'll leave it at that,
Richard
