Al, do it the way we have in BAKA. Do box exchanges with DKG, KFN, SKS, etc., and try to send stuff we have that they want. In exchange, ask them to use fibrous peat as filler/packing material in any boxes they send. Divide it into bags, and auction at the next meeting.


Until Bill Gallagher discovered that monkey fur (shredded redwood) works just about as well, we always had a good supply through the club on the left coast. You might check your landscape architects and see if they have that ground cover made from redwood. One trade name is "Gorilla Fur" but most gardeners call it "monkey fur." [Do boil and rinse it well.]
