That was what amazed me. I am used to NA fish becoming relatively
inactive below 50 degrees F (10 degrees C). These Austrolebias were fat and feeding
and we even saw fry that were feeding and growing. I now have some of them in a
cool room at about 45 degrees (7.2 degrees C) and they are eating and
breeding. They did not do well at all at 83 degrees F (28.3 degrees C) when I brought
some back.
