Which cold water killifish are you keeping and at what temperature? Many
cold
water tolerant fish are not active unless warmer - they are cold blooded
and
their metabolism is slowed at low temperatures - they are essentially
dormant.
Many killies are not tolerant of higher temperatures, because they need
more
oxygen. Perhaps you should consider somewhat higher temperatures but with
increased aeration or higher surface area tanks. I collected many
Austrolebias
this past July in Uruguay in water that measured 4 degrees C. These fish
were
active and healthy.
