Re: [Killietalk] Blower info

Cost effectiveness is important, but can you do this job with a LPP? The largest LPP Sweetwater sells, which is the brand I have used for along time now, is 140 watts @ 60hrtz, NOT 50 like the common Asian import( not suggesting Jehmco pumps are, I don't know), will deliver allot of pressure, but only delivers 6.5 cfm, which is a far cry from the 21cfm @ 40" water depth @ 60 hrtz. I would think, do to the large amount of air necessary for that many tanks or outlets a blower is obvious. that being said, I don't do Jehmco pumps, so perhaps they measure it differently. Its important to use a pump sized for the operation level of the project, and using the CFM calculation used by many commercial aqua culturist, I don't see one offered by jehmco that I would use.

5.6 amps as I calculate it would be : Single phase watts = volts*amps*power factor(.9 is commonly used in this application) = 579.6 watts, but this is a calculation for a pump under FULL load, this pump would run more along the lines of 250-350watts if sized appropriately.
Closer. Grin;)

But that is 650 watts, compared with 100 or 120 watts for the Jehmco models.
Not close.
