Tim,
The long term use of a Linear Piston pump will save much more in 
electrical cost than the original price difference of the blower vs 
the Linear Pump.
	One of the local Missouri Aquarium Soc. , Gary Lange, has 
been visiting several fish rooms in the area with an Amp meter and 
proving the difference is real.  Maybe you don't have the original 
cash out lay but it is worth investigating.

And they are so much quieter!
