I think that a high temperature reaction is necessary for efficient 
production of hydrogen, but it still happens at room temperature. I will try to find 
more about it. 
    Don't ever wash the oil off of steel wool with solvent and then let it 
dry. It will catch fire!! I believe there is some hydrogen produced.
