Re: [Killietalk] Best Yarn for mops?
I do not boil the mops. If I want to clean them, I gather the loose ends
together with a rubber band (helps to keep them from tangling), and place
several mops in a mesh sweater bag. I then drop the bag into the washing machine
under the delicate cycle. I add some chlorine bleach, let the washer fill
with water and leave the lid up for awhile. This turns it into an extended soak
cycle and lets the bleach work. After 10-15 mnutes I put the lid down and
let the cycle finish. I run it through another cycle with just plain water
(and no soaking) to get the bleach out. I then hang them to air dry. They
come out clean with no hideaway critters.
