Although I do raise a few types of Killifish I am mainly a discus
breeder so I have changed 50% of the water in all of my growout tanks
for several years. About 2 years ago I got tired of watching about 250
gallons of R/O waste water go down the drain everynight so I drilled an
overflow into one of my 120 gallon tanks and re-routed the waste water
though there. It worked so well I drilled my other 120 and both of my
75 gallon growouts. I alternate which tanks gets the "flush" each
night. R/O waste water seems to be great for discus and I would assume
it would be good for killifish also.

On a related topic, I don't think I've ever seen a recirculating RO
ssytem.
I seems to me that it wouldn't take much of a pump to recirculate
water from
a sump ( like a garbage can ) instead of dumping all that tap water
down the
drain. This might be of particular interest to you folks in the
Southwest
Has anyone seem anything like that?
