It depends on what you are trying to raise.
For very small fry I use a variety of micro-organisms (Parameceum, Rotifers,
etc.). Green water is fine for very small fry but I never seem to be able to
produce it when I need it. Therefore, I maintain cultures of a variety of
micro-organisms. I also find that the San Francisco brine shrimp nauplii (if
used immediately on hatching) are substantially smaller than the Utah
variety and constitute a useful food for small fry.
