I have cultured them for several years now. Once had up to 4 thousand
(estimated at 20/sq inch of bottom area) in a ten gal tank before my
electricity went out for several hours. Lacking the strong
aeration....about 80% of them died. Larger killies will take them if they
can catch them. I use them primarily for angelfish and discus which will
spend hours hunting them down. I've seen discus blow water into crevices
trying to dislodge the gammarus into the open.
