Thanks, I should've clarified that by saying: Don't just add salt. I
remember doing so in the past and seeing already swollen gravid fish
suddenly drop their eggs (they sometimes do this when stressed anyway
for reasons unknown to me)...Never occurred to me you could however in
conjuction with other "salts"...learn sumthin new everyday :-)

Ya know, now that I think about it, I can't really remember ANY
antibiotics curing a fish; not at least "below" the cost of the fish vs.
the cost of the anti-biotics (per the usual recommended "3 dosages"
anyway) . As harsh as it sounds, (rare killies excluded), I usually
weigh the  cost of "5gal per capsule" anti-biotics (LFS prices anyway)
vs "replacement cost" of the fish..sadly euthanism usually wins (in
larger tanks anyhow) :-(
