[Killietalk] re: was F0 generations
Hi Kyle et Y'all,
As long as it is "killie" fishy it belongs here. I can relate to your
dissatisfaction with killietalk over the past few weeks. I will apologize
for all in saying "it went overboard" and I put my 2 cents worth in as well.
(wish I had not) after seeing the 40+ threads. Can't take it back.
Anyway!! There were some valid points made about or hobby and of course
plenty of BS etc.
To see the "method behind the madness" realize that emails travel at the
speed of electricity. when you here from Tyrone you are talking to a
gentleman in Italy, Mike fl. wright Ca, Brian Canada. This can be done in a
matter of 10 minutes.
My father and I were "members" of the AKA round robin report in 1987-1990.
Now this was one of the best informative things that ever occured in the
AKA. How many people have heard of it?? The information provided in that
was worth its weight in gold. Now the nice thing about this a responce was
well thought out and typo free. Hand written HAHA. Draw backs it took 3-4
months to here from its 6-7 members. OH and for the record the American
Aquatic Gardners Association was given birth from this AKA ROUND ROBIN. You
might recognize it now as the AGA.
On killietalk what took 3-4 months by round robin, now can take 25 minutes
of thoughtful typing. Everyone has access rather than just 6-8 people. if
a beginner wants to ask a question it will go unbiasly into the killietalk.
Round robin was restricted to just a few?
For those in the old AKA round robin. Special thanks to all in the round
robin for inviting my father and for the wealth of information retrieved.
Thanks to all on killitalk for answering stupid questions and brilliant
ones.
Don't be to hasty in dicouraging off topic "talk" if they did that in the
round robin the AGA would not have been born!! I think that the AGA
(formerly AAGA) has now become larger than the AKA.
ATTENTION!!!
On a different Note, The SAASG has their own talk list much less prone to
"BS" never a harsh word. These "talks" are often directed by a topic of the
week. This might be something we could attempt on killietalk. It has led
to some very nicely focused debates and discussions with a worldwide
audience.
Can this be done here Mr Cooper et all????? It could develop a little
design to our talk list. Just an Idea.
Thanks to all, God Bless, Lee "the Rivnut" Van Hyfte <><
