Re: [Killietalk] F0 designation

Hi all,
Not that it will be the determining info on this subject, but I will tell what they are teaching in high school biology to all that take it.
My biology teacher (with 41 years experience at my school) taught us that f0 was the label for a wild animal (be it a fish, a bird, a reptile, etc). We were also told that the offspring were to be labeled as f1, the offspring of these to be labeled f2, and so on.
I don't know if this is the current accepted way or not, but it is what's being taught in the high schools.
Just thought I'd throw it out there,
Gary

Brian gave us the good references, Leo. I was just trying to recall the
argument as it went about 15 years ago in the Bay Area aquatic community.

The references are a lot better to trust than my memory. It is still my
second-shortest thing. :-)
